Our favourite videos from 2025

It’s been a monumental year for Smart Digital. We’ve been filming events from Birmingham to Bangkok…  with plenty more from Barcelona in between!

2025 got off with a bang with Arab Health in Dubai, Pharmapack in Paris and gaming giant ICE moving to its new host city in Barcelona, all in quick succession.

And the year hasn’t slowed down since. This year we’ve filmed and edited hundreds of videos and reels for clients across a variety of different sectors including pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, aerospace and defence, mobile communications, tech, connected futures and emergency services to name just a few!

So it’s drum roll time for our look back on a very busy 2025…  In no particular order,  here are our team’s favourite videos:

Tim Henderson – CEO

Aside from the show itself being one of my favourites per se, this video truly highlights what the Dubai Airshow is going to look like in the next few years.

As one commentator put it: “We will soon not be referring to these aircraft as the future, but the now.”

The dynamic style of a walk through video of one of the show’s key features really captures the aircraft, elements and features of a show in a cool way.

In 2025, ICE made a bold move: leaving London, its host city for 50 years, for the warmer climes of Barcelona.

Social media videos were a key tool in capturing the essence and excitement of the event in its new venue, both inside of the Fira and for all of the events and networking gatherings outside of it.

On-site videography at events helps our clients share what’s happening on their stands with a wider audience.

At Mobile World Congress, we captured all of the discussions taking place on Netcracker’s stand, creating a slick and stylish video which was edited on-site.

The Netcracker team was able to keep their followers up-to-date, sharing their activities at MWC via their own social channels.

We’ve worked on the Dubai Airshow for a number of years so we’re always on the lookout for how we can bring a fresh look to our highlights coverage for each edition.

This year, we looked at using different transitions between edits. I really like the effects Eme used with the transitions between shots … especially on the standing aircraft displays!

TM Forum’s Catalyst projects bring together some of the greatest minds in tech to solve global problems.

In the run up to both DTW Ignite and Innovate Asia, we helped the TM Forum team capture the essence of these game changing solutions through remotely recording speakers for a series of Catalyst trailer videos.

While we’re recording the Catalysts, we also get to peer into the future and hear, first hand, how technology is being used to solve some of the biggest challenges across the globe. This year, these have included ensuring short-life goods such as vaccines can reach remote areas before their expiry date and a ride hailing service which can be used in any language and without using an app, making life easier for everyone from elderly residents wanting to get to hospital to non-native speaking travellers, even with just 2G coverage.

It’s a tough call to sum up the essence of an entire show in little more than 30 seconds but I think this reel for iGB L!ve 2025 really achieved its mission!

I like how this video manages to capture both the highlights and the atmosphere, the variety of events and the people who attended. Having an edit which is based on a walk through (with added interactions and touch points in between) really brings the show’s energy to life and gives a great taste of what it feels like to attend.

Fi Global was looking for an eye catching – and tasty – way to launch its 2026 show in Paris, its new host city.

They were looking for something a bit different, so a full 30 second launch promo featuring fruit, veg and other ingredients on top of and within the Arc De Triomphe was produced, using stock footage and augmented reality (AR).

This was the first time we had used AR in one of our videos and it was a great learning experience – I’m very proud of the final result!

AR is still a novel approach but it can really help a video to stand out and I believe it will have so much to contribute in terms of future projects.

It was also great to see all the positive, fruitful, comments for Fi’s innovative approach … although some Linkedin members were concerned for pedestrians around the Arc, fearing they may be in danger of being crushed by a falling grape!

One of my favourite videos this year was filmed at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona in November for Connected Places Catapult.

With a focus on better cities and urban innovation, it felt like a fresh event with new energy and a lot of colour. The people we shot seemed to really believe what they were saying and were excited by the work they were doing.

Trying to capture that spirit and energy was very enjoyable to film and edit!
